Searching and filtering cases effectively

Learn how to search and filter cases effectively

The Global Search Bar (1) is located at the top level of the system and searches across the entire platform. It retrieves results related to cases, people, companies, countries, and even quotations in the forecasting section.

Broad searches

Enter a general term like “US.” The system will display all matching results (cases, people, countries, etc.).

Narrowing results

Add more specific information to refine the search. For example, entering a case number like "135" will reduce results from many to just the relevant records. Continue typing until only one result appears.

Copy-paste flexibility

You can copy and paste data (e.g., case numbers) directly into the search bar for quick access.

The Records (2) view includes a secondary search bar (3) that focuses exclusively on case-related data. This method is ideal for precise, case-specific searches.

Search any case data

Enter details like case references, application numbers, publication/registration details, or owner names.

Example: Searching “US” shows all related results. Typing more (e.g., "6/1") narrows it further until you find the exact match.

Inputting full data

Type the full case reference (e.g., “56564746”) to find the exact case. Click on the result to open the case directly.
